WOOD THAT YOU COULD

I'll bet many of you have never seen this before;a car with wooden spoke wheels. These were on a very old, very well preserved Model"T" Ford. They sure don't make them like that anymore.

  1. Amazing. How fast does a Model T go?

  2. Only seen by yours truly in museums. I hear the first Yugos had them, too..... :)

  3. Where did you find this? Greenfield Village?

  4. Boy they sure dont make'em like that. If they did, they would probably use bad wood and be recalled.

  5. Never seen anything like this, I vaguely knew that these wheels existed, but to see a real one is completely different. Great catch!

  7. Can you imagine the maintenance we would have if we still had wheels like that? They were very pretty, though.

  8. That's amazing! I'm reminded of stories my grandmother used to tell me about her Model T Roadster.

  9. I knew someone who owned a Morgan and apparently its frame is made of wood ... of course it was long ago and I cant recall if the spokes were wood or not ...

  10. Interesting since wooden spokes were also used on Roman chariots. Love stuff like that.

  11. Very cool. I wonder how soon they would be splinters on the cars of today---going 80 miles an hour. MB

  12. Your Yugo will be jealous of a car that has lived as long as that Model T. Your Yugo is exceptionally long-lived as it is, the typical life expectancy of a Yugo being less than 2 weeks...

  13. I've seen 'em! Love them! We were at the car show on Sunday. Yay!

We're going to the porcupine MTs the first week after we leave Blue lake, we just decided that tonight--and then--

    Maybe Canada?

I'll blow you guys some kisses when we drive through! If yr there.

  14. Hope you took photos of the car, too, with an intent to post it. It is something that most of us probably have never seen.
