One of the tribal elders. I love the feathers. The embroidery is magnificent, as well. Such detail! I'm sure it all has significance, I just don't know what.
I've just come back from 3 different PNW reservations and haven't seen a single Native in regalia. Even my boyfriend didn't oblige. So thank you very much for this and yesterday's marvellous photos.

ReplyDeleteAnd such grace in the tribal elder.
ReplyDeleteAnother gourgeus and elaborate costume.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the significance either. But it's gorgeous. I don't want to think of how many hours went into making something like this!
ReplyDeleteIn a day when most people can't even sew on a button, things like this are amazing!
