U.F.O. OF THE ROOF

Here is another contribution to our series on wind vanes. I was hesitant to use it since I haven't the foggiest idea what it is;and no, it is not a Yugo. So, I submit it to you in the blogosphere to help identify the mystery vane.

  1. Verrry interesting, Mr. B. It looks like a boat in a canoe with wheels and a strange sail.
I'll leave it at that. MB

  3. I'm going back to bed it looks like a boat on wheels topped with something else to me.

  4. It obviously IS a Yugo with a sail attached for speed. Actually, I think I've seen sleds like this with sails on the ice (in photos). Maybe someone knows, I'm only guessing.

  6. Good Morning!
    Hmmmmmm
I enlarged the photo and I think it's a car or cart (4 wheels) with sails attached.
My husband thought it looked like a boot? ? ?
I'm sticking with the 'sailed vehicle ;o)
    Have a wonderful week~ Maria
    I can't wait to read everyone's thoughts!

  8. Does not appear to be a bird. That's all I can say.

  9. I'm not as certain as you are that it is not a Yugo.

  10. Taking a cue from Tapirgal and Jim Klenke, «Louis» suggests that it is Harry Potter's very own wind-powered Yugo. No offense meant to your cherished Yugo, B SQUARED, but given the tendency of Yugos to break down (as witnessed by your own recent experience), wind power vastly improves the cruising range of the Yugo. «Louis» suggests that you (ahem) liberate a mast and sail from some boat in the local marina and give it a try...

  11. It looks like a car or boat with sails flapping in the wind ...

  12. Wasn't there a children's story about a wind-powered car? Except for the obvious drawbacks, this could be the next green technology.

  13. Unless it's not an U.F.O waiting for one of your friends you introduce sometimes on your blog ;), it's a land yacht, used for Land sailing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_sailing

  15. 'Tis a mystery and shall remain so until you get enough courage to go knock on the door and ask and tell them the whole world wants to know!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  21. Even though he has visited previously, «Louis» thought he should stop by and see if there was anything new in Yugoland...

  22. Too many comments to read, but I did browse through, and I too think it looks like some sort of big-finned convertible about to be squished by a giant high-top boot. Definitely not a Yugo...

  23. Very peculiar! I wonder if it's broken and something is missing. Your mission - if you decide to accept it - is to knock on the door and ask the owner.
