LIFEGUARD STAND

The ocean was a little rough the other day. The wind was blowing ESE so there were strong rip currents. Many a strong swimmer has drowned not knowing how to deal with them. This time of year we also get Portuguese Man o' War. If you have ever encountered one of these, you won't soon forget it. Their sting leaves red welts and intense pain. These are the reasons for the red and blue flags.

  1. It may be a dumb question, but is the water warm enough to swim in February?

  2. Even a rough ocean would do for me. Looking at the sea, the blue sky, thinking it's probably hot is more than nice for a Parisian living a very cold winter this year.
    Thanks for your pictures.

  3. I've got a lot of photos of Hollywood Beach and Fort Lauderdale beach...don't remember that kind of lifeguard stand...it looks like an airplane about to take off...
