You know, it's a shame. There are a lot of older folks who spend their summers in this area. I feel bad for them. They are in the twilight of their years and they have to drive these old cars. Such a pity.
I love vintage cars. I don't know why. Just look so beautiful to me. Don't get me wrong. There are a few contemporary cars that I like, but nothing says class like a 50's Rolls Royce.
How are you enjoying the summer?

I was in tears when I finished reading your story...but then I read another story about old guys living in Ft. Lauderdale who are reduced to driving old Yugos, and I wept openly!
That wouldn't have been so bad, but I was getting my nails trimmed at the time!
You order - we roast! We don't ship from an inventory. Your coffee is not roasted and packaged until you order. You are assured of top-quality coffee every time, shipped fresh from our roaster!
You are just jealous because those old cars are in better shape than the FTLDP Staff Limo, a.k.a. Yugo...
ReplyDeleteLOL at your remark at Versailles DP...
Lol, I imagine I must be very old because I'd love to drive one!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they have heard of a yugo? Talk about who is in the 'Twilight Zone'. MB
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sad story! I feel so lucky to live in a cramped town full of youngsters riding their noisy scooters even on the sidewalks!
ReplyDeleteThere must be an underground network for when they need to buy a new tire. Poor souls, indeed.

ReplyDeleteI will gladly treade my modern day Honda for one of those old jalopies!

Me thinks your pity is misplaced!
ReplyDeleteMust be humiliating. But I've heard once you reach a certain age, you stop caring what other people think.
ReplyDeleteAre you speaking from experience?
ReplyDeleteOK, I am now backing up slowly, turning and running like heck!!
OH WOW .. I think those are the same people/cars that I photographed in VA last month! How come you and Yugo arent in this parade?
ReplyDeleteThey're going to be saying that about my Honda Accord one day.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, such a pity to drive one of those CLASSICS!!! Ha Ha Ha!!!
