STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND

This is certainly not your everyday, garden variety piece of yard art. A rather interesting piece. At times it looks Egyptian. At other times, it looks like it could be from many different periods. It is a very large work and must weigh a considerable amount. No one will be walking off with it in the middle of the night;that's for sure.

  1. So THAT'S where «Louis'» former father-in-law disappeared to!

  2. It looks like good quality marble, I wonder about the style of the sculpture. You are right, this is almost surely theft-proof!

  3. It is unusual, and sort of reminds me of something Brancusi would have done.

  5. That would make a great pawn in a cool chess set.

  6. I maxed the photo which showed the detail, and I like it. Because of its simplicity, I think the sculpture would work in any environment.

  7. It does look pretty heavy, but is it just for looks? How odd

  8. It looks fairly new - it hasn't attained that "weathered" look. I quite like the eye which you see when you enlarge the photo.

  13. What I most like here is the composition itself and the succulents, especially that Pachypodium (spiny) trunk on the letf.

  14. I personally grock cubism there. Had to enlarge it to see the detail when I noticed flowers in the yard. And stuff that is green. I remember green stuff!

  16. It is my opinion, after great consideration and research, that this is Floridian of an unknown age. Or maybe it's Fort Lauderdalian? Who knows?

  20. There must be a good story behind it! I was thinking Easter Island, too.
