EYELAND VIEW
This is another mural by a gentleman who goes by the name of Vose. His work is all over town. I believe he is singlehandedly beautifying this city. Some of his work is on out of the way walls that are not easily seen. The work above is just off one of the busiest streets in the city. If you are not paying attention while you are driving, you may actually see it;it may be the last thing you see assuming you don't survive the crash. Pleasant on the eye, tropical, good use of depth and shading, all characterize his work. If you visit our city keep an eye out for his work, but, keep the other eye on the road.

I am no fan of mutals but I find these really beautiful: they are obviously something more than the spray can variety.
ReplyDeleteThe artist himself call these 'murals' but I am pretty sure that they fall in the category of the trompe-l'œils, for the realism of the painting and the three dimensional effect.
We'd like someone like this Vose here!
What a great way to brighten up your town. At first glance it looked real.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I thought it was a porthole to real life. I like the shot. MB
ReplyDeleteNow that is a beautiful mural! Very well done!
ReplyDeleteVery neat! Sort of like that mural on the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to see something like this in an unexpected place!
ReplyDeleteAnd it really works well with the tree in front and the trees shadows unless. Inless i've been fooled and it's part of the mural.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting--I like well done murals, nice capture!
ReplyDeleteFunny that you are coming here just when we're leaving.
When we get back from this trip, we're going up to Northern Michigan too. Where are you going there?
Very beautiful and creative mural! I liked this idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing

What a wonderful way to beautify a city, and you're so lucky to have the man doing his art work where you can enjoy it. The porthole reminds me of cruises, none of which I have ever been on. I often wonder if I would enjoy that kind of vacation altho I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteNice find. Vose brings color to the city.
ReplyDeleteA trompe-l'oeil. And a nice one!
ReplyDeleteMary-will be staying in a little town called Harbor Springs. If you are up that way, give a holler. B^2
ReplyDeleteLovely 'trompe l'oeil'!
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing. I love murals and public art generally, the stranger the better--though much of it is merely bland. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing mural. Your're right, he is beautifying the city, if the rest of his work is like this.
