BARBARIANS AT THE GATE
As you drive down the road and see a large set of gate, don't you wonder what is behind them?As a little kid, didn't you used to go up and stare in expecting to find who knows what. In todays world, nothing can be as interesting inside as the gate itself. The above serves as a case in point. This certainly is a one of a kind offering. It certainly would be easy to find this house. How many other homes on the block could possibly be mistaken for this one? Tacky? Maybe. Unusual? Definitely!

I feel like crashing the gate. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGates are so common in Manila, it's the houses without gates that catch my attention. But even then, this one definitely stands out!
ReplyDeleteDon't you think it is pretty neat looking? Somebody has imagination. Gates are a mystery sometimes. MB
ReplyDeletewow anyway this is a beautiful and different gate!
ReplyDeleteAnd your picture is perfect, I just loved this perspective and all palm trees so adorable!
Great post dear B!
Congrats,
Léia
:) nice!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought, no question it is tacky, but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. A little over the top, definitely.
ReplyDeleteThis is a house? Are you sure it doesn't belong to some minor superhero?
ReplyDeleteGosh, they should have spent a few more bucks on the design.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how your tastes change from childhood to adulthood. I am sure I would have found this gate unbelievably beautiful. Now I just think it's tacky and ug.
ReplyDeleteIt looks more like an entrance to a country club than a private home. Most gates to private homes (I would assume) would be more discreet and laid back.
ReplyDeleteIt is a little tacky, but I sort of like it. It does make you wonder what is inside there.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's certainly.... original.
ReplyDeleteAre you back home? Tacky? No, not for Florida. I think it's quite nice, very attractive, muted colors and functional. Keeping the barbarians out is a major challenge in South Florida.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely interesting and colorful! Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, whatever is behind it is probably very nicely located! The gate itself isn't quite my cup of tea!
ReplyDeleteThere's something to be said about being easily located...if (and this is a very BIG IF) you want to be found. ;-)
