IF YOUR GOING TO SAN FRANCISCO...

I have to confess, when someone mentioned Wildflowers to me, my first thought was a Dandelion by the side of the Freeway. Little did I realize, "The Hills Are Alive" with wildflowers. The past couple of weeks every field, road  side, and spare piece of land not paved or covered with a manicured lawn, has come alive with all the colors of the rainbow and every shade in between. Suffice it to say, Timothy Leary and Cheech and Chong would have loved this area. I certainly do and have no need of additional stimulation. Nature is more than enough. It really is phenomenally beautiful. I think of this as the warm-up to the main act (Autumn) which should start in about 5-6 weeks. Stay tuned.

  1. Nice image and serious thoughts. I have recently begun to appreciate this, checking out the the name of a flower or the type of a tree.
Tuned for the main act in weeks...

  4. I love, love, love meadows of wildflowers. I should be up in the mountains taking pics of Alpine wildflowers--no, I should be---oh no I can't be everywhere. MB

  14. As beautiful as a canvas painting. What's so wonderful about this is that it is real.

  15. I love this description:"the hills has come alive with all the colors of the rainbow and every shade in between" and I agree.

Wildflowers growing by the roadside or on the hills and meadows are as pretty as those growing in the garden.

  18. Ah, what a wonderful composition and the musical reference is very appropriate. It lifts my spirit and warms my heart! Incidentally, Incidentally, I'm vacationing on an island in Wisconsin and frequently get a weak internet signal. So...I'll be posting and commenting only when I can find a strong signal. But, I'll be back!!

  19. Wildflowers are my favorite! Although I have to say I never pictures wildflowers being there! Our season for flowers is so short, I imagine the ones around here will be shriveling up within the next couple of weeks.
