WOULDN'T YOU REALLY RATHER HAVE A BUICK

I came across this car in a small strip center. I was taken by the excellent condition it was in. The car looked like it was entered in a car show. I looked all around it and could find no defect, not even a speck of dirt. It looked brand new in spite of being 45-55 years old. An elderly gentleman got in the car and drove away before I could talk to him. I know there is a story here but it will have to wait for another time. In the mean time, sit back and admire a true work of mobile art.

  1. I can't imagine any car now lasting for half a century. All those electronic gizmos inside would be outdated in few years.

  2. Wow, I can't remember the last time I saw a car like that.

"YOU GET MORE OUT OF A BUICK
BECAUSE WE PUT MORE IN." "JUST TRY US."

YOU REALLY RATHER HAVE A BUICK?"

  5. Since I don't see any palm trees, I'm assuming that you got this shot in Michigan. If so, it is truly amazing to see such an old car in such good shape. When my parents emigrated from Europe in the '50s, everyone's dream was to own a "Buitsk" as they pronounced it. My dad ended up being a Chevy man.

  7. I love older cars. This one is really in perfect condition and probably shouldn't be anywhere near a parking lot or on the road. It's a 1956 Buick Century wagaon and does appear to be restored. There must be a logical explantion for it being at a shopping center...unprotected. The owner must care very much for it. But door dings?? Ouch!!!!!

  8. I'd say that's a '54 Buick? Just guessing...but looks very much like the one a student in my high school class (who worked for a Buick dealer) stole and drove to and from school all through the last semester! He finally got caught.

Dontcha just love all that steel and chrome?

  13. It is definitely a beauty. I'm with VP: the electronics give up on you after a few years and then they don't know how to fix them so you go out and buy a new car...

  14. I'm not much for enormous old cars since I'm more seduced by fuel efficiency, but this one certainly seems to be in pristine condition. You have to admire the owner for that.

  17. Exceptional piece of art, as exceptional must be the care by its owner. Great catch!
