IN THE OCTOPUS'S GARDEN IN THE SHADE...
Many people go to great lengths to decorate their homes at this time of year. I'm sure many of you have seen Santa in his sled being pulled by 'Ole Red Nose' and the boys (they were actually girls, you know;the 'boys' shed their antlers in winter but not the girls). But I digress. I bet none of you have seen a Christmas Octopus. Well now you have. Kind of makes you wonder what Halloween might have been like.

No, never seen a Christmas octopus before. What big teeth you have, said little red riding hood. He's beautifully decorated and I love the quirkiness of it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I like the look on his face. MB
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of a Christmas Octopus, they could write songs about this! I didn't know that octopuses had scales, teeth and a tongue like a snake...
ReplyDeleteThat is probably the strangest Christmas decoration I have ever seen. And you have just assured that I will be humming that song the rest of the day.
ReplyDeletewonder if it glows in the dark. I would leave that up all year.
ReplyDeleteThis indeed is a strange one... octopus Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThis is someone with a wild sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteLike no octopus which I've ever seen before your photo! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteHmmm it's weird!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the lovely Santa and many coloured stars, flowers and crystal balls!

One of the less fortunate things about South Florida is its weirdness. One of the most fun things about South Florida is its weirdness.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a fun thing. Not sure, but I think so. And I guess an octopus decoration for Xmas makes as much sense as a Santa.
And thanks for the reminder re: reindeer. I think I had heard that before ... maybe 50 - 60 years ago - but I forget easily. You need to digress more often; I enjoy learning new (old) things! :-)
Meanwhile, have a great day!
You really have some strange stuff down there.
ReplyDeleteweird!
ReplyDeleteYou are SO right...if this is Christmas, Halloween must have been totoally off the scale scary. Darn, sorry you missed it.
ReplyDeleteWhat were YOU doing. Hurriedly painting the octopus?? Writing silly, won't amount to much song lyrics. Fess up.
I think this is what the thing from yesterday turned into when no one was looking ..
ReplyDeleteMy first response is to not ask any questions.
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool, I want one of those!!!!
ReplyDeleteCharming Christmas decorations you have in your part of the world.
ReplyDeleteThat's different
ReplyDeleteDidn't you ever have one of those Christmases where you couldn't take any more ads, carols, or shopping? These folks have! And I'm sure it is lovely all lit up at night (keeps annoying family away, too)
ReplyDelete:-)

This is scary.
ReplyDeleteWell, what can I say?!
ReplyDeleteFor Christmas? That is a bit unusual.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to see the Christmas Octopus cartoon aired in TV every year to help us celebrate.
