THE ALLURE OF THE SEAS
This is THE ALLURE OF THE SEAS. Click this link to see all that she has to offer, should you be interested. This is a shot of her arrival in Fort Lauderdale a couple of days ago on her maiden voyage. She is the largest cruise ship in the world. The Allure takes the title from her sister ship, THE OASIS OF THE SEAS, that debuted here last year. You may click this link to see a video of the two ships side by side. I don't have the photographer's name who deserves credit for this shot. Whether you are a "cruiser" or not, it is a beautiful sight!

Wow....that is a floating city...so big....
ReplyDeleteIt's still hard for me to imagine cruise ships taller than most buildings. Hope they've stocked up on spam and pop tarts.
ReplyDeleteA great photo!
ReplyDeleteAnd SHE looks beautiful.....
Extreme WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's huge alright. Too many people around for me, I'll stay up in the woods. MB
I would love to cruise on one of those. They have live trees planted on board. How cool is that?
ReplyDeletewow amazing!!
ReplyDeletewonder if you are cruising on it you realise you are on sea!
BIG! Really BIG! But it's not my lifestyle. :)
ReplyDeleteI like cruising, but this might be a bit much! An amazing work of engineering though.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but this is not what ships were meant to be, IMHO.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to work on a cruise ship...until I figured out I got seasick ;-/
ReplyDeleteI am not a cruiser, I'm all for the 'off the beaten track' thing, but have to agree the image is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteToo big.
ReplyDeleteShe's awesome, you are lucky to have her at hand!
ReplyDeleteThat is impressive .. when I was about 10 yrs old (waaaay back in the time of ... ) one of my aunts and her family moved to England because my uncle's job required it .. we saw them off on the Queen MARY ..not the Queen Elizabeth or the even newer QE2 .. my strongest memory of that ship was the indoor swimming pool that looked as if several whales would fit and have room to swim around easily
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent cruise ship, I'd like to get ourselves one day !!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a big one. If I live to be eighty years old I might take it for a spin.
ReplyDeleteI have been on a couple of smaller cruises, but really didn't like the bigger one.
ReplyDeleteFt. Lauderdale is a city MUY GRANDE. I can't imagine being on something that large, much less having it "in my back yard."
ReplyDeleteOh wow that's unbelievably huge. Like the Empire State Building floating sideways. Sort of.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent ships!
ReplyDeleteWould love to see it from the inside, or better experience it during a holiday!
ReplyDeleteYour picture is excellent, congratulations! This ship is massive! :)
ReplyDeleteLéia
Wow, he must have some amazing lens to take this. Have to say it would be my idea of hell to be on a cruise ship like this. Give me a small cruise ship with just a few hundred people.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness it is enormous
ReplyDeleteImagine having to tow that one into port!
ReplyDeleteI WISH I was a 'cruiser' but i just can't afford it... darnit!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the Ft. Lauderdale I remember from long ago.
ReplyDeleteV
I agree with you! So when are you joining the cruise?
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!
I'd love to explore. I wonder why all the boats are spraying water?
