REAL STREET ART

It is more than amazing the things you can see if you just open your eyes. While taking a walk the other day, we happened to look down on the path and found this beautiful chalk drawing. I'm sure it took some effort and time to create. The elements will combine to afford it a brief life. The artist was aware of it. And yet, here it is;preserved forever in digital memory banks. While it may not be of museum quality, it sure gave rise to many different thoughts and emotions within me. Art really is all around us;in museums, galleries, nature, and right below our feet.

  1. What a caring & incredible way to have everyone see that person's work... the artist & yourself.

    Have a wonderful weekend

  4. Another nice catch, really a beutiful drawing. I like the idea of drawing this in chalk, it won't last but surely has more respect for the place.
Since few years ago we had madonnari, people drawing with chalk religious subjects on pavements, hoping for some coins. Some were really good.

  11. Good that you captured it before the elements act! It reminds me of those sand sculptures on the beach, those guys must invest a lot of effort producing it and the next day the whole things is washed away... But they really did something for those who could appreciate!
    God bless you!

  12. This reminds me of similar drawings sidewalk artists do in Paris...when it rains, it's gone...impermanence...which reminds me of the sand mandalas Buddhist monks do...or those flour ones (forgot the name) that are made in India... Glad you preserved this one!

  14. I'm surprised at how good this is. The person who chalked it is an excellent artist. Hopefully, he or she is using more durable materials elsewhere to preserve his or her work!

  19. I love sidewalk chalk art. It's like a sand mandal - the beauty is intensified because it is temporary.

  20. One would wish that those who have taken upon themselves to unilaterally decorate our streets and buildings would have this kind of talent. Alas, no.
