AIRMAIL
A somewhat stoic figure, this Pelican seemed attentive to my every move. I guess the mailman would simply drop a fish in front of him. While he bends down to pick it up, shove the days posts into the box and take off. A pretty good plan but a lot of fish. On another note, A salute to all our Veterans for their service to our country. Thank you for a job well done.

ReplyDeleteI agree with your sentiment re. Veterans Day; thanks for mentioning it! Don't you love these unique mailboxes?! Whenever I'm in a rural area, I look for them, esp. around Duluth where there seems to be many local artists with a whimsical flare.

I'm enjoying this mailbox art series. I imagine what funny looks you must get as you prowl through neighborhoods taking photographs of people's boxes.

Another fun mailbox creature. This one is certainly well executed...looks like they specnt good money to acquire his services. (Seen any manatees down your way? They are so popular here and how many times can I post a big lovable manatee mailbox...there must be some pelicans siomewhere hereaboyts.)

That would be good, a robot version that reaches out and opens its bill as the mail carrier approaches - and then swallows the mail!
