SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR

I don't really know what to say about this statue. The owner must not have been happy gazing upon the sculptor's work and felt the need to embellish it. And that, he did. I cleaned up the image a tad to allow viewing by all age groups. I had to use Photoshop since I was unable to find a fig leaf. I don't suppose any of you have something similar in your backyards? I thought not.

  2. You're pretty good with Photoshop! :)

This reminds me of what people do to the statue (though no nudes there) called "Waiting for the Interurban" in Seattle.

  3. It looks strange with that outfit, but interesting, especially the hat!

  4. This is weird as much as creative! You can call this an installation and send it off to the MoMA...

  5. I'm sure it would look better unadorned and naked.

  6. The way some folks decorate statues always amuses me. There are some wags out there who take it upon themselves to "improve" the images. I wonder if the owner did this or some mischievious gremlins?

  9. Where do you find this stuff?

I am starting to have some serious concerns with the taste of Fort Lauderdalians!

  13. Ha! Now that you mention it, I can't recall spotting anything similar recently in my back yard...

  14. You must have some interesting neighbors! The statue is prepared for all opportunities-- parrot training, fishing, excessive sun, tin can plinking, Christmas, and in case an artist shows up, modeling...

  15. That's not strange--it looks just like what I wear when I go out trolling.

  16. I'm starting to think that you stage these things . . . or is Ft. Lauderdale really that insane? I may have to visit.

  17. Not in my back yard---just naked horses.
Some people just have an urge to dress anything in odd things. MB
