ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL

Surprise! Surprise! They have murals in Michigan. I found this one, and two others that will be shown at a later date, on the basement wall of an excavated building. The economy prevented the developers from proceeding with their plans. So, some artist, vacationing from Fort Lauderdale no doubt, made use of the space. This one has a strange feel to it. Certainly not palm trees and flamingos that you are used to seeing here. At any rate, murals are alive and well in Harbor Springs.

  1. Yes, definitely a strange feeling to it...
Are the walls really swirls of purple?

  2. Now I know for sure. You're the artist.

That's a nice blackboard to go with the school desk in Versailles!

  9. B2, it is definitely of the north in feel and reminds me of Wisconsin Death Trip. I never thought I would hear myself says this, but "bring back the flamingos!"
Last time I saw many many wild roses was at Sleeping Bear.
We were supposed to be on Lake Michigan for two weeks starting last Saturday. A very wicked storm (the one that blew out windows on the Sears Tower Friday evening) blew through here and electricity is still not back in Harbert........

  11. At first I thought it was a chalkboard. I'm pretty sure they're humans but they do have a strange feel. A bit of twilight zone in the mural :D

  16. If there's a mural around, you'll find it! This appears to be a weird family portrait. I mean a portrait of a weird family. Either way.

  17. Not like the ones you found in Florida, but always much better than our average mural!

  18. I vote for Fort Lauderdale artists and their colorful murals. Besides, the one man reminds me of Lenin.
