THEY REALLY CAN JUMP HIGH
I've been seeing more wind vanes around town. I am sure it is due, in no small part, to the worldwide interest generated by our series. Today's offering is a Porpoise still referred to as a Dolphin in these parts. Some may even call him Flipper but they would really be dating themselves. Not that I would know anything about that, you understand.

Are you saying that you googled 'dolphin' to find famous ones?!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the copper glow.
A dolphin by any other name is still a dolphin! I must look for some vanes when I go to the country.
ReplyDeleteWho's Flipper? ;)
ReplyDeleteWow! I think that is the first dolphin I've ever seen jump over a house!
Just what I love, a post with a 'porpuse'. ( :
ReplyDeleteI am sure your series has helped re-ignite the wind vane craze of South Florida!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful contrast with the wonderful blue sky!

Wow!! Poor fellow, he jumped so high he got speared by W-E. MB
ReplyDelete:) this is so beautifully captured!
ReplyDeleteWe have a bunch of comedians on CDP, don't we? And a lot of them are from up north and have never seen dolphins jumping over houses and stuffs.
ReplyDeleteRe alleys - I heard that's where cats play, and I've always wanted to see what alley cats do when they think no one's around to watch.
But I couldn't find any alley cats, so I took a picture a staircase instead.
You really have to find a house with a nice mural and a fancy weather vane!
ReplyDeleteYou have the best sense of humor and a great eye to spot these fabulous vanes and mailboxes
ReplyDeleteHey now, Flipper was one of my favorite shows!
ReplyDeleteYou got a beautiful shot of this one, and I love the coppery color, too. It's great to have Google to help us find phrases and names that old people would use. I have one on my next Astoria post tomorrow. Nope. Not that *I* remember when it was in vogue.
ReplyDeleteI suppose this means dolphins have a good sense of direction...
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. See you tomorrow!
Lessee now....
ReplyDelete"Flipper" was on when your Yugo was new...
Looks like a beauty!
ReplyDeleteWow, he did jump far! I prefer the word dolphin to porpoise, but I'm not sure why.
ReplyDeleteFunny!
ReplyDeleteI think Dolphin is a prettier word, but without as much porpoise.
Lordy I'm relieved you've got past that snake business and are now back to dolphins/porposes/Flipper.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh Reclining Nude by Modigliani. Nice one.
