SO VERY BRITISH

I guess people in this part of the country are used to seeing vintage automobiles. This area really does offer a treasure trove of automotive history. This car was just sitting in a parking lot minding it's own business. It is an MG circa 1955. I don't know the model but someone out there will. Very well preserved or beautifully restored, I don't know which. I like it and would love to take it for a spin. All I need is a Deerstalker and a pipe to go with my Tweed jacket. There's room for two!

  1. Guessing a TF Roadster? Pick me! It'll give me a chance to wear my Tippie Hedron roadtrip scarf and movie star glasses.

  2. You also need a picnic hamper with crystal glasses. And then of course you need some country lanes and rolling hills.

  3. It is an MG-TD, the successor to the TC that many GIs brought back with them after their service in the UK in WWII. This was the car that started the sports car craze of the '50s, inspiring the '53 Corvette and the '55 T-Bird.

  7. We had a red one sitting in our driveway in the 60s. Cool sound, cool car. It was an MGB sound right?

  8. I've always loved the MG...we lived in Scottsdale in 1959 and a friend I worked with had a blue one much like this - I don't know the year. I was very jealous!

  19. When I was in junior high, my best friend's parents had one similar to that, we called it 'The Midget' & we'd drive to the lake in it... we had a lot of fun in that car!
