SO VERY BRITISH
I guess people in this part of the country are used to seeing vintage automobiles. This area really does offer a treasure trove of automotive history. This car was just sitting in a parking lot minding it's own business. It is an MG circa 1955. I don't know the model but someone out there will. Very well preserved or beautifully restored, I don't know which. I like it and would love to take it for a spin. All I need is a Deerstalker and a pipe to go with my Tweed jacket. There's room for two!

Guessing a TF Roadster? Pick me! It'll give me a chance to wear my Tippie Hedron roadtrip scarf and movie star glasses.
ReplyDeleteYou also need a picnic hamper with crystal glasses. And then of course you need some country lanes and rolling hills.
ReplyDeleteIt is an MG-TD, the successor to the TC that many GIs brought back with them after their service in the UK in WWII. This was the car that started the sports car craze of the '50s, inspiring the '53 Corvette and the '55 T-Bird.
ReplyDeleteGo Louis. Love his id on this beauty.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking pipe also. Nice ride.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready to go for a spin. MB
ReplyDeleteWhoo-hoo! I'm ready!
ReplyDelete(How does Louis la Vache know so much?)
We had a red one sitting in our driveway in the 60s. Cool sound, cool car. It was an MGB sound right?
ReplyDeleteIt's a sweet old ride.
ReplyDeleteSweet ride!

ReplyDeleteAh the memories ...
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the MG...we lived in Scottsdale in 1959 and a friend I worked with had a blue one much like this - I don't know the year. I was very jealous!
ReplyDeleteIs this your English dream? I certainly wouldn't say no if one showed up in my garage!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you find all of these?? I'm in. Where are we going?

Perfect shot of a hot little car!
ReplyDeleteIt is either an MG-TD or a MG-TF - very smart looking.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have radar for these very interesting sport cars.
ReplyDeleteYou really do find the cars!
ReplyDeleteIt would be great to drive this, but even taking some nice pictures could do...
ReplyDeleteShe's a beauty. I wouldn't mind taking her for a spin.

Cute. I used to have an MG midget that I adored.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! There must be some sort of club that all of these car owners are in there.
ReplyDeleteAnother beauty on wheels!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the moustache, too :D
ReplyDeleteGreat looking car.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in junior high, my best friend's parents had one similar to that, we called it 'The Midget' & we'd drive to the lake in it... we had a lot of fun in that car!
