HOMES OF HARBOR SPRINGS-PART 2
One of the more fascinating aspects of Harbor Springs is that almost nobody knows about it. It has been referred to as "The most exclusive summer resort in the midwest" for well over 100 years. An article in Town And Country Magazine said, "If Norman Rockwell had ever visited Harbor Springs, he would have found enough work for a lifetime." The short time I have been here, I can only amplify what the magazine said. The above summer "cottage" has been in the Thomas family since the 1920's. It is called Cedarmere. The photograph only hints at how truly beautiful it is. Scott and Zelda would have fit right in.

Bonjour Luxembourg
Now that is a very impressive place. I would like to scope that out. Amazing to have something so fancy. MB
ReplyDeletePlease show us more of these 'cottages', this is incredibly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI grew up spending lots of time in Door County, WI (heavenly!), and this magnificent building reminds me of many homes that have been turned into restaurants and/or B&B's. Makes me nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteThats a beautiful home, I love the porch.
ReplyDeleteNice little place in the country. Hmmm. Wonder what their main house looks like. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI wish we could see the inside!
ReplyDeleteAnother one of those gorgeous "shacks". :)
ReplyDeleteIt's just hard to beat a grand old home like this! Truly magnificent...and I would love to wander about all the nooks and crannies!
ReplyDeleteOh, it really does evoke another time and way of life.
ReplyDeleteOk, now, I really loved the other photo you posted in this series, but this one is absolutely magnificent! I love that porch
ReplyDeleteThat "cottage" is magnificent! You are right about Scott and Zelda.
ReplyDeleteWOW! That's gorgeous. When I drove around in Harbor spring last fall, it was mostly after dark and I got lost and didn't really enjoy the scnery all that much. This is sweet!
ReplyDeleteNow that's my kind of cottage. Just a humble place for the occasional weekend getaway!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful selection and photo.
