17th STREET BRIDGE

This is the 17th Street Bridge from a little different perspective;underneath. This is the last bridge in Fort Lauderdale as you are heading out to sea. It is relatively new and replaces the old bridge. This one is considerably higher, and as such, doesn't have to open nearly as often as the old one. Something that is greatly appreciated by people like me who used to have to cross it 6 or 8 times a day.

  2. You found the right angle to make this bridge even more impressive. 6 or 8 times a day? Let's call it B Squared bridge...

  3. Impressive from below, it looks like a huge robot coming towards you.

  4. It does look sturdy and quite high. When I was a little kid, I remember having to wait for a bridge to close so we could cross. Not good if you're in a hurry!

  11. A perspective from underneath we rarely see. The lines, edges and right angles are interesting to view.

  12. The bridge had needed replacing for a long time...with so much boat traffic. This is a cool shot of the new one. I'm sure most people are quite happy at not having to wait for those slow, slow sailboats!

  13. It is nice to watch bridges open for ships but not if one is in the traffic waiting! Nice bridge.

  14. I like that view. It's interesting.

It also seems, at the same time, a little provocative.

  16. That's a very unusal looking bridge. It could just be the angle but it has a futuristic look. imo

  21. That is quite a massive bridge. It looks in very good shape compared to the bridges in the Northeast.
