FALLING INTO AUTUMN
Just a little preview of what's to come. The folks at Pond Hill Farm are getting ready. They have some Pumpkin like things that are close to 500 lbs. The squash is being harvested and the leaves are starting to change. It is supposed to drop into the low 40s tonight;ole' Jack Frost is getting ready. It may be still be Summer in the South, but, it's Fall up here.

looks beautiful when enlarged
ReplyDeleteand those pumpkins weigh 500lbs????
That is a pretty picture. I guess that's why I like the fall. So colorful. It is fallish here too. In fact I was going to post some trees changing color and forgot until I saw your post. Oh well another day. MB
ReplyDeleteI've noticed the pumpkins, hay bales, and mums making an appearance here, too. Even in the South, we're moving steadily into Fall.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is such a colorful time of year! The nights are getting cooler here too and a hobby farmer a few miles from here says she had a frost two nights ago where her land is low. YIKES!
ReplyDeleteAlthough fall is always beautiful, I greet it with a baleful eye because I know what's ahead: ice, snow, zero temperatures, and slippery sidewalks and streets. I like your photo better than the winter images I have in my head!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Fall flowers and colors!
ReplyDeleteI am ready for the cool air in the morning. 500lbs pumpkin? I think I used to date her.
ReplyDeleteSeason has changed here too
ReplyDeleteI can't help being a little jealous...fall? 40s?
ReplyDeleteIn Ocala, we're down to 71 at night. Nevertheless, people are preparing for Halloween...the artifacts of All Hallowed Eve are everywhere to be seen.
Methinks you're mighty happy with your sojourn in the north lands.
Two full days of heavy rain out the last three, so a bit cooler even here. Enlarging the photo it's nice to see on the left some towering sunflowers. Do they really sell 500lbs pumpkins?
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready for fall yet. :(
ReplyDeleteI am jealous too! Fall is my favorite time of year.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like only yesterday it was summer. Fall has a weird way of sneaking up on you. Nice colors. I like the old building.
ReplyDeleteI havent seen autumn yet.
ReplyDeleteNice shot!
Wonderful picture my dear friend!

Re: Jacob's post and baseball cards in the spokes. Did you use the baseball cards of the guys you liked, or ruin the cards of the ones you didn't like? I guess girls used playing cards. I probably didn't know what a baseball card was at the time, but I do remember the playing card with the clothespin!
ReplyDeleteHow nice it would be to share a fall outing in your part of the country. Enjoyed your post and so pleased you stopped by my place.
ReplyDeleteLovely market shot!
ReplyDeleteI did a fall shot on No Polar. (Maybe I should like to it.)
I love market shots, this is nice.
Oh no, you're not kidding. I walked today and was dripping wet when I returned. No fall here, except that I"m the only person on my street with dead leaves in the yard. For the love! Enjoy those nice temps B2. You'll wish you had em when you fly south again.

Judging from the colorful flowers and huge pumpkins autumn must have its golden sides too...
ReplyDeleteBuenos Aires is looking forward to spring. (;
Looks a lot like around these parts. When I checked my blog this morning at 7:30, it told me it was 36 degrees outside. Brrr Luckily it warmed up to another gorgeous late, late summer day.
