TILL NEXT TIME
Just one of the magnificent homes on Mackinac Island. Many people have asked to see more of The Grand Hotel. Since we were not staying at the hotel this trip, we could not get to those areas. There won't be any photos of the lobby, rooms (incidentally, they have 385 rooms and no two are alike), or other areas of the hotel. Should you want, however, you may see more on Flickr or YouTube, just click one or both of the links to be magically transported to their site. You can book a special internet rate of $149. per person. This includes your breakfast and dinner as well as discounted ferry tickets. Should you still be hesitating, there is no tipping within the hotel. It may not be high season but, Fall is beautiful and it is The Grand. Really, not a bad deal.

That's okay that there are no interior pictures. It leaves much to the imagination. I enjoy this style. It reminds me of the world of the Great Gatsby.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful and UNIQUE hotel! Thanks for sharing.:-)
ReplyDeleteAll the more reason to visit!!!
ReplyDeleteIf someone here see this rate, we'll be flying to Michigan within a week...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful house and the Grand is just that....What a great Island---I want to be there. MB
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shot !! Simply great and fantastic !!Unseen Rajasthan
ReplyDeleteThe idea of decoraing 385 rooms differently makes me dizzy. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSounds fun but I think I'll be viewing the autumn colours from a more affordable place this year: Chez EG Tour Guide.
Wonderful photo with the horse drawn carriage! Must have been a splendid vacation!
ReplyDeleteA super shot, BS! You have done an excellent job showing off The Grand and the island! Thanks!
ReplyDeletelooks palatial!

What a gorgeous house! I'll bet the view from up in that tower is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteI've stayed on the Island once, and it is lovely, we had a great time. This is a wonderful shot. I love that there are no (or extremely few) motorized vehicles there.
ReplyDeleteThe homes look as spectacular as the hotel. The old Victorian era hotels, like the Grand, Mount Washington in Bretton Woods, NH and even the Tampa Bay Hotel have to be experienced to be believed. Their idea of luxury cannot be surpassed and is still so unbelievable today. I appreciate your shots of Mackinac.
ReplyDeleteNice post!
It is an amazing building. I love the fairy tale castle tower looking architecture.
ReplyDeleteWonderful vacation.
ReplyDeleteThis image conveys a traditional feel. BTW, $149 is surprisingly moderate for such a splendid location.
ReplyDeleteFairieland! These are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo are the Snowbirds flying away??? Have a safe trip home. I'm sure your summer has been wonderfully cool and delightful. I'm glad. See ya back in Ft. Lauderdale where it's still a bit warm. :)
