THE BROTHERS GRIMM ARE SMILING
This particular architectural treatment resembles a facade. Since it is on the side of the building, it does not officially qualify as a facade. In fact, it is strictly ornamental. The doors do not open and Rapunzel will never let down her golden hair from above. But, it certainly adds character to an otherwise ordinary side of a building. Kudos to the person responsible for doing this. I smile every time I pass by.

Great idea relized with a few simple things. The effect is quite good on the building and the funny part has to be kept in mind!
ReplyDeleteThat's a first! Nice one!
ReplyDeleteThat is nice! I like those pale colors they used on the doors and shutters.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a great idea. I like it when anyone uses their imagination. MB
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. And funny. And cute. And colorful.
ReplyDeleteIt does spruce it up, doesn't it - but it IS funny!
ReplyDeletea nice architectural touch to liven up an otherwise drab exterior; nice blog
ReplyDeleteHAHA! Great description.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I think I would like it better if it did open. Or, they could put a cutout of a woman with long hair?
ReplyDeleteNice post with a good picture and story. Thanks !
ReplyDeleteYou are right, fantastic idea!

Love it. One has to wonder, doesn't one.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly LOOKS intriguing. I looks real to me...but I'm easily fooled. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe they ran out of money? Or had dreams for the future? Keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot and what you have written makes me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it looks like one of those closing doors over a moat.
ReplyDeleteBut let us know if Rapunzel makes an appearance!
that's a nice piece. I have to revisit the Godfather - your fav - to see why it fits with your biography and your sentiments.
