PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST

I saw this piece of art at a street fair awhile back. I didn't think much of it at first. But, it began to grow on me. I've come to appreciate the expression on her face, the position of her outstretched arm, and the angle of her head. She's an artist gazing at life passing in front of her and getting her inspiration. It's a nice piece. What do you see?

  1. I see an unusual piece of art, that if I bought it, I wouldn't have a clue where to put it. Maybe she is perplexed because she has no idea how she is going to live off of selling art.

  2. I too like the expression on her face. She seems to be saying, "Hellooo, people, I am busy here--outa my way". MB

  3. She looks like a colleague of mine, flower and palette apart. My colleague is a bit less skinny, but not too much. She either is... a piece of art.

  4. Portrait of the Artist as a young man certainly has competition from this "babe," er..young woman. Fetching she certainly is!

  8. Looks like a self-portrait of me trying to think what to paint, LOL, except for the hairdo.

  9. I see that someone else quite seems to quite enjoy it, as there's this hand (seeming to be an old woman's) pointing at it for someone!
    God bless you!

  12. I think she looks confused. She's wondering what to do next. BUT that may be an extension of my own feelings at the moment.

  13. I think she would look great next to that garden shed from your previous post.

  14. like C & L I've noticed the wizened fingers in the bottom left pointing at it - looks a bit like a V sign which over here is an expression of disapproval (to put it midly) though of course I'm sure it isn't deliberately meant that way.
