SKYWATCH - ONLY THE LONELY

Doesn't it just figure. The summer residents have left, the tourists have left, the town is all but deserted. And what happens, we are treated to the most beautiful day of the summer. A perfect SKYWATCH day. A light breeze and a calm Bay. Not a soul here to partake but me. Life is good!

  2. Sounds like a "Motels" song. The blue sky and water against the green grass and trees works very well

  6. Beautiful blue in the background!
It's exactly how I like the sand and sea - all to myself.
Perhaps you wouldn't mind if I just sat there on the end of one of those little piers. I promise to be real quite. :)

  9. Beautiful skies.
Have lived in tourist towns for much of my life and there is much to be celebrated when the crowds go home. Lucky you to enjoy that lovely sunny afternoon.

  12. It's a beautiful serene setting for an anniversary of tragic proportions when NYC was rocked by the Twin Towers fall. I still feel profound sadness for the victims and those left behind to grieve. So....your photo is a welcome scene.

  19. I would enjoy the quiet and serene of such a place. Most time, so many people you cannot enjoy it as much. Continue to enjoy while you can and share more great photos.

  20. This is where you spent your summer? You lucky dog! (I think I've said that before!) Glad you're not complaining...it's still hot and humid in South Florida...we're getting a bit cooler up here, but it will be another couple weeks before we can open the windows and night...

  22. I think I would prefer your winter, myself. Does the perfect day include a temperature of about 70 degrees?

  30. this is a beautiful image with such vibrant colors and so inviting to sit down with a glass of wine ant take it all in. Thanks for your comments on my site about the photos from my photography tour to Vermillion Cliffs and Slot Canyons. I have many more coming up and the slot canyon photos are truly amazing. It was quite a trip. And I am not sure i would have stood on the edge if I had been by myself. The peer pressure of fellow photography students probably gave me more courage to capture the image.

  35. Funny how nature seems to know our moods and needs better than we do. This scene just appears perfect and begs one to stop and relax.

I thought the stone wall assemblage was very cool and mysterious. Did you find out what it is??
