A LITTLE BIRDIE DIDN'T TELL ME

I came across this lovely flower in my backyard the other day. I'd like to describe how I chose the seeds and cross pollinated them to yield this beautiful result. Alas, I can not tell a lie. Some bird must have eaten a seed, and later, defecated. Not a great story but a nice flower. If anybody knows what it is, please tell me. I do know the bird was pretty cool looking.

  2. Some kind of iris, I guess. Anyway, purple/dusty lavender is one of my favorite colors.

  8. Well, I have no clue! But Lois Anne, who knows most everything about everything, suggests it is either an Iris or a Crocus. When I heard that I just about croaked!

  9. It loooks like an all purple iris to me--a very petty one--nice capture.

  10. It does look like an iris, although those are bulb flowers I believe. Must have been a big poop!

  11. If all our pigeons' droppings were like this, Livorno would be the new Keukenhof!

  12. It sure is pretty, but I don't know what it is. I have some similar flowers growing in my yard and they probably got there the same way as this one did.

  14. «Louis» votes for Iris - from a bulb. The bird droppings are responsible for your bumper crop of dandelions...
