SKYWATCH FRIDAY-ANGLIN'S PIER
This is Anglin's Pier. It has been a fixture for years. There is nothing quite like taking a stroll to the end as a Full Moon is rising from the Atlantic on a warm summer's evening. Many people fish from this pier as well. People have caught every fish imaginable from it. Some of the pier had to be rebuilt after our plethora of hurricanes a few years ago. Young couples can be seen walking hand in hand on a Saturday evening, some may be seen on SKYWATCH FRIDAY.

Though a freshwater angler, I can't see a pier and not imagine some great adventure--like hooking the famous barracuda (there was a movie about this many years ago).
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely pier and what a terrific shot! I would love to stroll there and watch the moon rise!
ReplyDeleteThanks as always for stopping by and for your comment! Always appreciated!
Looks and sounds idyllic! Beautiful, peaceful photo.
ReplyDeleteI always think of piers of being so British, then I see this and I couldn't think of a better setting for a romantic pier stroll.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo...I like the perspective...so nice to see the waves, no ocean in Ohio...looks like a few fishing out there...
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen that pier - kinda reminds me of the Naples Pier. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteI have spent many hours on the piers in Dania, Ft. Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, etc. They are an immense attraction for the area!
ReplyDeleteThis sky is beautiful indeed and that pier is impressive! Nice shot!

ReplyDeleteps. I agree with Mike above... the banner is perfect!
It's a long pier. I guess the water must be fairly shallow for a long distance. Beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to take a walk down that pier too! Nice.

ReplyDeleteIt's good exercise to walk from one end to their other! ;-)
ReplyDeleteNice pier!
I hadn't visited your site before but am knocked out by it - I have spent much of the morning looking at earlier posts - great photography and delightful text - appeals to me tremendously, very architectural...
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful, I'm so sorry we don't have these here.
ReplyDeleteLike the angle view to see the full length of the pier, will not be much longer before you get to enjoy warm summer evenings there.

What a cool pier! Isn't amazing how every time you visit a place like that it looks different depending on the light and time of day and season?
ReplyDeleteThat's a great looking pier! My grandmother used to tell me stories about when she was a girl in the 1920's and used to go to dances on the pier where she grew up.
ReplyDeletewhat a nice, evocative shot. thanks for sharing this beautiful photograph!
ReplyDeleteI would love to walk down that. What is sea oats?

ReplyDeleteYou will be rivalling Jacob with his many piers. I hazard that the walk in the moonlight would only be nice with that special person beside you.
ReplyDeleteFishing piers are wonderful places. It's nice to find folks on them just happy to be there and not much worried about catching things.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot, Bill.
ReplyDeleteGreat pier. There is one in Juno that looks just like it. It also had to be rebuilt after a storm.
ReplyDeleteI love those pier photos, maybe because I have never seen one in real! Lovely place, and the angle is great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
I love piers. I think I would spend a lot of time on one if I had one near my neighborhood. Your shot is lovely...great lighting...Thanks for your visit to my SWF...
ReplyDeleteThe pier seems to stretch right to the horizon. Interesting that it was rebuilt and is well used. Here in the UK our seaside piers are in a very sorry state.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very nice pier and a great composition!
ReplyDeletePerfect picture postcard. Wish we were there!
ReplyDeletePlan them for a holiday, hi.
ReplyDeleteThere is something so romantic about walking out a long way over the sea, no wonder the pier is popular with couples, especially by moonlight.
ReplyDeleteReally nice shot.
Do you think the Godfather could find some use for this pier?
ReplyDeleteLovely shot. We have a couple of similar piers in northwest Florida too. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI have spent many a day on piers.Fished like crazy since childhood. Picture draws my out to the tip and to enquire whatcha catching?
ReplyDeleteLooks almost exactly like one we have here in Charleston. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to do some fishing !!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I can see a hopeful bird, perched on top of that second shelter from the end, waiting for a handout :-)
Great shot !!
I like this photo a lot. it makes me want to walk to the end to see what I can see. I am glad you enjoyed the night photo series. I plan to practice some more next full moon.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to walk until I reach the end of it and stand there feeling the force of the sea before me - if I'm there. thanks for sharing.
