TANGO WITH A MANGO

Not too long ago, I showed you of a picture of a Mango Tree full of fruit. I told you about the overabundance of Mangos and how they are seemingly, everywhere. Here is a table my neighbor set out on the side walk. On it, are free Mangos. Go on, help yourself. She has baskets and baskets of them. She would be happy to fill up the trunk of your car. Just ask her. Try a filet of Yellow Tail Snapper topped with Mango Salsa, followed by a little Mango sorbet. The cuisine is called Floribbean, it's local and it's wonderful! Enjoy!

  1. An enterprising neighbor. I do like Mango Salsa and peach/Mango Salsa. I think I just like mangos but I don't want a trunk load of them. MB

  2. I like the idea of 'Floribbean' cuisine and would happily take some mangos and try the recipes.

  4. We've got the same problem as your neighbor, except with grapefruit.

I've never acquired a taste for mangoes, so free or not, they would stay where they are.

  6. I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that up here, among us hill billies and ridge runners, briars and buckeyes, we used to call green peppers, "Mangos." And older than me folks still do. Our son moved to Florida and we went to Publix store once and I mentioned how nice the "Mangos" were and he laughed and told us what a "Mango" is.

You probably remember when people lived and died at home and endured wakes. I wrote about it here. http://bing-it.blogspot.com/

  11. If you could just shove a few of those through the line here, that would be great.
