SKYWATCH FRIDAY-EFFORTLESS FLIGHT
Have you ever been to a beach and watched the Pelicans? They fly so effortlessly. Gliding more so than flying. Very little flapping of their wings;more jet than prop. This statue at the beach captures their essence beautifully. They may look stationary but they are headed right for SKYWATCH FRIDAY.

ReplyDeleteCool photo of the Iguana, I used to have them at my last house and they would give me quiet a fright if not expecting them to wander across my patio but they were really very tame and just looking for a handout.
superb composition!
ReplyDeleteVery good shot, we have no pelicans (for now) but the statue really gives the idea of gliding.
ReplyDeleteA flight in the air forever without any rest :P
ReplyDeleteI can truly say that I have never seen a pelican in flight but the statue does all you say. Looks like the higher one is gliding on the thermals in all that wind!

I love the pelican--a prehistoric beauty. They do make it look easy. I especially like when they disappear close to a wave and then emerge.

ReplyDeleteThey make it completely in an elegent way.
Great SWF!!!
They are gorgeous birds to watch in flight and, like gulls, are so delightfully clean. How is the one on top attached to the other?

Yes, I agree, pelicans are beautiful, their shape is just great. And one can't really tell if they are real or part of the statue.
